Governor Umaru Bago Drives Comprehensive Infrastructure Development in Niger South (Zone A) for Sustainable Growth and Prosperity

Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago has undertaken a groundbreaking roads construction initiative in Niger State, focusing on all three zones of the state. This past weekend, he toured the entire Zone A Senatorial District, also known as Niger South, as part of the project. The effort includes the Minna-Bida Road, where ongoing bridge construction is being funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to ensure successful completion.

During the groundbreaking ceremony for the Minna-Bida Road, Governor Umaru Bago made a significant announcement, stating that the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Abu Dhabi Fund (AFDB), and the Niger State government would serve as backers for the project, with the necessary funds readily available for immediate deployment. Notable features of the project include the development of schools, hospitals, and three international markets within the communities adjoining the newly constructed road.

A multitude of distinguished individuals attended the groundbreaking ceremony, including key figures such as the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, who represented President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Among the attendees were the National Party Chairman of APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the state party chairman of APC, all executives of the party, Senator Isah Mohammed (Wazirin Nupe), Senator Mohd Sani Musa, Senator Peter Ndalikali, and all members of the House of Representatives from Niger State.

The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, along with all state House of Assembly members, were also present. Additionally, the Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service, Chief of Staff, all state executive council members, special advisers, and heads of agencies were in attendance.

Royal figures such as His Royal Highness, the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Dr. Yahaya Abubakar, and His Royal Highness, the Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmed Gunna Attahiru II, Emir's of Agaie and Lapai as well as other senior members of society, also graced the occasion.

The comprehensive scope of Governor Umaru Bago's infrastructure projects spans several key locations, including Mokwa, Lavun, Edati, and Gbako local government areas, encompassing an extensive network of 556 kilometers of roads distributed across all 25 local government areas within Niger State. These transformative initiatives reflect the Governor's unwavering dedication to enhancing accessibility, connectivity, and economic growth, paving the way for enhanced livelihoods and sustainable development for residents across the state.

Throughout his official engagements, Governor Umaru Bago visited Katcha to initiate the groundbreaking ceremonies for the 5-kilometer road construction project, aligned with the broader plan to develop a substantial network of roads totaling 556 kilometers across the state. The Governor's strategic focus on extending infrastructural projects to underserved rural areas, as demonstrated during his visits to Agaie and Lapai, reflects a commitment to equitable development and inclusive growth, fostering a more prosperous and interconnected future for all inhabitants.

The commitment to quality execution was underlined by consultants and contractors engaged in the road projects across Agaie and Lapai, vowing to adhere to stringent supervision and implement effective drainage systems for improved outcomes. Local government officials and traditional leaders expressed appreciation for the Governor's proactive approach in extending infrastructural development to rural areas, fostering socioeconomic progress and uplifting communities across the state.

In an effort to bolster infrastructural development, Governor Umaru Bago revealed plans to reconstruct the Lapai-Gulu-Muye Federal road and emphasized the necessity of establishing roads leading to Baro Port. Seeking necessary support from the Federal Government and exploring tax credit schemes for the projects, the Governor reiterated his commitment to transforming the state through an enhanced agricultural revolution, promoting mechanized agriculture and prioritizing infrastructure investment for sustainable growth.
