FGGC Bida Celebrates 50 Years of Excellence: Old Girls' Association Hosts Grand Anniversary Event

The 50th Anniversary celebration of the Federal Government Girls College, FGGC Bida Niger State, organized by the Old Girls' Association of the school, was a grand event that brought together over 300 old students from different parts of the country and the Diaspora. The occasion was graced by prominent personalities including:

Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar
Wife of the Governor of Niger State, Hajiya Fatima Bago
Global President of the Association, Mrs Hilda Nkor
First Head Girl of the school, Mrs Vivian Abii
Director Principal, Mrs Omolola Abimbola Ilegbemi

During the celebration, speeches were made by Mrs Nkor, Mrs Abii, and Hajiya Fatima Bago, emphasizing the importance of education for the girl child and the impact of FGGC Bida on the lives of its alumni. The Etsu Nupe also pledged his support for education at all levels, while the Director Principal expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the old girls and urged them to continue their efforts towards maintaining the college as a center of excellence.

The event also included the commissioning of projects such as a digital laboratory and the renovation of school structures, as well as the presentation of awards to individuals who have contributed to the growth of the institution. The highlight of the celebration was the launch of the school magazine and the cutting of the 50th-anniversary cake.
