~~ Mahmud Ashraf

The passing of Alhaji Ahmad Yabagi Abdullahi (1952-2025) leaves a void that can never be truly filled.  More than a simple obituary, this is a tribute to a life lived with extraordinary generosity, unwavering integrity, and a profound dedication to his community.  Born in Bida in 1952, Alhaji Yabagi’s journey was marked by significant contributions to Niger State, both in the public and private spheres.

His career with Niger State Project Agriculture and his leadership within the PDP demonstrate a deep-seated commitment to public service.  Yet, his true legacy lies beyond titles and positions. Alhaji Yabagi was a philanthropist at heart, quietly and consistently providing for those in need.  He was a peacemaker, adept at bridging divides and fostering unity amongst diverse groups. This was evident not only in his professional life, but also in his personal relationships, exemplified by the strong bonds he shared with his brothers, Alhaji Mustapha Dangi, Justice Musa Abdullahi, and former Minister of Agriculture Sheikh Ahmed Abdulla.

Alhaji Yabagi, a respected elder and public servant, was known for his truthfulness, kindness, and unwavering integrity—a true "Zaguru & Mutumin Kiriki."  His wise counsel and support touched many lives. The large turnout at his funeral underscored the profound impact he had on the community.

His loss is felt deeply by his family, his friends, and the entire community.  The peaceful coexistence, the unwavering concern for others, and the remarkable ability to resolve conflicts that defined his approach to life are qualities sorely missed.  While grief is inevitable, let us also celebrate the rich tapestry of his life—a life dedicated to service, unity, and the betterment of those around him.  May Allah grant him eternal peace and reward him abundantly for his tireless efforts.  His memory will serve as a beacon, inspiring future generations to emulate his compassion and unwavering commitment to their fellow human beings.

May Allah reward you with Aljannah Firdausi Alhaji Yabagi

Aameen Ya Rabbi
