In Nigeria, the value of health is often overlooked until the harsh reality of sickness strikes. The glaring inadequacies of our healthcare system are a stark reminder of the urgent need for change. With only three percent of GDP allocated to healthcare, Nigeria lags behind other countries in providing adequate medical support to its citizens.

The shortage of qualified healthcare workers, with only 1.95 per 1,000 citizens, highlights a systemic issue that needs to be addressed. Maternal mortality rates in Nigeria are alarmingly high, contributing to 19% of global maternal deaths. These grim statistics serve as a wake-up call for the nation to prioritize healthcare reform.

As Africa's most populous nation, Nigeria cannot afford to ignore the pressing need for a reformed healthcare system. The time has come for leaders to take action and invest in the health and well-being of the nation. The healing hands of change must be implemented to ensure a healthier, more prosperous future for all Nigerians.
