In Memory of Lt. IM Abubakar: A Promising Young Army Officer Taken Too Soon

The news of the tragic death of Lt. IM Abubakar has sent shockwaves through his family, friends and the entire community. A talented and dedicated young army officer, Lt. Abubakar's life was tragically cut short by the senseless and violent actions of thugs and phone snatchers who stabbed him to death on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, on his way home at Unguwan Sarki-Sultan Road, Kaduna.

Born on 23rd September 1995 to the families of Alhaji Baba Abubakar and Late Alhaji Bagudu, Wazirin Nupe (Nma Musa Abubakar and Amina Bagudu). Lt. IM Abubakar was a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew him. A graduate of Al'hikmah University Ilorin, where he studied Biochemistry, he later joined the Nigeria Army in 2020 and continued to excel, obtaining his Master's in Forensics.


The passing of Lt. IM Abubakar has left a profound void in the hearts of his loved ones, friends, and colleagues. His untimely departure has robbed the world of a bright and promising young soul, leaving behind memories of his kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to serving his country.

Some family members and his colleagues from Nigeria Army Forces said, "tragic and senseless killing of Lt. IM Abubakar has plunged his family, friends, and the entire Nigeria Army into a state of profound sorrow and disbelief. As a young and vibrant military officer, Lt. Abubakar was a shining example of dedication, bravery, and integrity, whose life was taken from us far too soon.

"The loss of Lt. IM Abubakar is not just a personal tragedy for his family, but a devastating blow to the entire Nigeria Army community. His colleagues and superiors knew him as a young man with a promising future, a dedicated servant to his country, and a beacon of hope for the future of the military."


"The pain and grief felt by his family and the Nigeria Army at the loss of Lt. IM Abubakar is immeasurable. The loss of such a young and talented officer has left a void that can never be filled, a reminder of the fragility of life and the cruelty of fate.



As we mourn the loss of Lt. IM Abubakar, we pray that Allah grants him peace and forgiveness in the highest ranks of Aljannah. May his memory be a blessing and a reminder of the preciousness of life. Aameen Ya Rabbi.
