Bilkisu Halilu Usman: Navigating Success in Beauty and Finance

 

Bilkisu Halilu Usman is Nupe by tribe, from Bida in Niger State, but was born and raised in Kaduna. She is fluent in English and Hausa, and can speak a little bit of Nupe. She is married and has 3 children, born on January 28th, 1978.

Her education background includes primary school at Unique Nursery Primary School Kaduna, Federal Government College Kaduna for JSS 1 and JSS 2, and then FGGC BIDA where she completed her SSCE. She also obtained ND and HND in Accountancy from Federal Polytechnic Bida, and later a Bsc in Accounting from IBB University Lapai. She is currently running a professional program with ICAN.


Bilkisu is a certified Microfinance banker by profession, and she also runs a side business for which she is very passionate. She currently works at Bida Polytechnic Microfinance Bank as the Head of Operations, and is also a business brand partner, beauty consultant, and manager with Oriflame Nigeria, a Swedish company known for its high-quality beauty, skincare, and wellness products.

TakeMyGist asked Bilkisu about her sales experience, and her approach to handling customer objections. Bilkisu explained that her passion for beauty and skincare products led her to become a brand partner with Oriflame, as she enjoys connecting with people and helping them discover high-quality beauty solutions. Oriflame offers a wide range of products for both makeup and skincare that are inspired by nature and backed by science.



When asked about her sales skills, Bilkisu mentioned that she is working on improving her ability to build rapport with customers and to understand their needs. She also said that she takes time to cultivate customer relationships while actively seeking new clients. Bilkisu finds motivation in helping others, and her ultimate career aspiration is to become a certified chartered accountant and excel in the field of finance and accounting, while also achieving the highest ranks within Oriflame.

Regarding her business, Bilkisu's main goal was to improve her knowledge of the different product lines and their benefits, so she could provide better assistance to her customers. She also emphasized the importance of encouraging entrepreneurship among young people to create their own opportunities rather than depending on the government for jobs. Bilkisu highlighted her family members and her husband as her role models and sources of inspiration to make a positive impact in the world.

In summary, Bilkisu's passion for beauty and skincare products has led her to a successful career as a brand partner and manager with Oriflame. Her dedication to cultivating customer relationships and her desire to continuously improve her sales skills drive her towards personal and professional growth.
