FEGGICOBID-OGA (Abuja Chapter) Alumnae Gather to Celebrate and Plan for the Future

The alumnae of Federal Government Girls College, Bida, known as FEGGICOBID-OGA (Abuja Chapter), came together on January 27, 2024 to mark their first meet and greet of the year. The event coincided with the birthday of their esteemed colleague and official, Amina Yahaya Alhassan, which added to the excitement and celebration.

The turnout was overwhelming, as alumnae from different classes ranging from 1982 to 2023 sets reunited to have a good time and discuss the future of the chapter.

During the gathering, President Dr Asma'u Musa Adamu urged all members to actively participate in the various activities organised by the chapter. She emphasized that these meetings were not only meant for reconnecting with old classmates and enjoying each other's company, but also for devising ways to propel the association forward. Dr Adamu encouraged members to contribute their time and resources to help the chapter flourish and become one of the largest chapters of FEGGICOBID-OGA, with over 500 members. She also proudly announced that the chapter would be hosting the upcoming 50th anniversary celebrations of the school.

One of the highlights of the event was the insightful speech delivered by Dr Amina Salihu, who shed light on the significance of healthy living and the school's motto, "Self, School & Society." According to her, in order to make a positive impact in the school or society, one must prioritize self-care. She shared her personal mantra, 1MWWW, which stands for "1 machine for work, worship, and winning." Dr Salihu encouraged everyone to take care of their bodies so they can effectively contribute to their communities.

Remi Onasanya, the Global Assistant Publicity Secretary, emphasized the importance of networking during such gatherings. She reminded the members that opportunities can arise unexpectedly, and connecting with fellow alumnae could lead to incredible prospects.

The occasion was graced by the presence of the national executives of Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA), led by President General Mr Mike Magaji. The national executives of FGGC Bakori old students association were also present, adding to the celebration's grandeur and significance.

As the alumnae of FEGGICOBID-OGA (Abuja Chapter) continue to come together and support one another, their commitment to their alma mater and the betterment of society continues to shine through. This meet and greet was just the beginning of what promises to be a bright and impactful year for the chapter.
