Bida's Pregnant Women Receive a Boost from Dan Majen Nupe Support Group and LYSSC's Free Medical Outreach

 

In a remarkable display of compassionate leadership and community service, the League of Youth and Students for Sustainable Change (LYSSC) recently organized a 2-day free medical outreach program in Bida Local Government, Niger State. The initiative, supported by the Dan Majen Nupe Support Group, provided essential medical services, including pregnancy scans, consultations, and free drugs, to over 600 pregnant women.

The outreach program, which took place at Hajiya Habiba Nna Bantigi Primary Healthcare Clinic, Emi Nna Yantsu Area Bida, on the first day, and Banwuya Primary Healthcare Clinic, opposite Makanta Wawagi Bida, on the second day, was a resounding success, with over 600 expectant mothers receiving life-changing medical attention. The event was a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives and the importance of accessible healthcare for all.

"We were determined to remove the financial barrier to crucial antenatal care, and we thank the Honourable Mohammed Usman Manko for inspiring this commitment," said Comr. Awal Aliyu Bawan-Allah, State Coordinator of LYSSC Niger State Chapter. "This outreach is the true meaning of sustainable change and compassionate leadership. We are proud to have made a difference in the lives of these women and their unborn babies."

The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Haj. Hawawu Adamu, the APC Vice Chairmanship candidate for Bida Local Government, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed, Director of Primary Healthcare, Bida Local Government, Mall. Usman Muhammad Sani, Secretary, Niger State Scholarship Board, Dr. Aisha Usman of Federal Medical Centre Bida, Hon. Mohammed Ndayako (Chef BK), Alh. Mohammed Tuwasha, Sarkin Yamman Nupe, Mall. Umaru Sanda Yakubu (Nagenu Raban Nupe) Gimba, and Alh. Abdullahi Abubakar, S.A to the Niger State Governor on political matters.

The LYSSC team, led by Comr. Awal Aliyu Bawan-Allah, Haj. Halima Sadiya Sadiq, Bida Local Government Coordinator, and Rad. Zulqarnain Muhammed Dasun, Director, Medical Team, LYSSC, worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the outreach program. Their efforts were supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, including Amb. Sani Abdulmalik Ceceko, State Organising Secretary, LYSSC, Comr. Philip Damisa, Secretary, Bida Local Government LYSSC, and Comr. (Sen) Adamu Alhassan (Mr. White), M.C.

Alh. Suleiman Wunchiko, Chairman of the occasion, commended the efforts of LYSSC and its partners, saying, "This outreach is a game-changer for our community. We are grateful to LYSSC for bringing hope and healthcare to our doorstep."

The LYSSC's free medical outreach program is a shining example of community-led initiatives that prioritize the health and well-being of vulnerable populations. As Alh.
