He worked in that department for three (3) years before his transition to the Public Sector Department as a Marketer.
While in the Public Sector Department, his unrivalled negotiation skills were immediately recognized due to his creative and strategic ability to proffer solution to near impossible targets. His marketing acumen helped him achieve a lot and also built a long-term relationship with every cooperate organisation he worked with, which simultaneously expanded his continuous growth of client base.
He has also worked with another renowned standard financial institution (Skye Bank) before he later joined Spring Bank PLC and rose through the ranks to become the Minna Branch Manager, in 2007. He was even retained as Branch Manager when Spring Bank metamorphosed into Enterprise Bank. He served in that capacity for eight years before he retired to venture into business. He was, before his present position, the Executive Director of Finance at Zuma Health Maintenance Organisation for two (2) years.

Personal Life and philanthropy

Chata is a husband to two wives and a responsible father of six children. He is a moderate disciplinarian who does not accept laziness. Away from business, he enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

However, In order to improve the educational quality of his people, Chata paid for WAEC and NECO fee for selected individuals who nearly lost hope of sitting for the final examinations.

He created a skills acquisition programmes where two hundred (200) youths were engaged to learn painting, tailoring, tiling, cosmetics etc.

He has equally been instrumental to the appointment of many people, regardless of their tribal denotations, into Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS), Federal Fire Service, Spring Bank etc.

More recently, he paid the annual school fees of two hundred (200) orphans and empowered widows with capitals to engage in petty trade for self sustainability. He gave eleven old women (beggars) tokens to start small businesses, instead of begging, through the palace of Sarkin Samari, Minna.

He assisted some flood victims with building materials and in few cases rebuilt the affected part of their homes:

A helpless widow at Ketaren Gwari, immediately, got his support when rain storm destroyed a part of her house. She has since returned to the comfort of her house.

A mosque,at Makera Ward, was renovated after he was informed of its dilapidation.

In similar fashion, he reconstructed a part of another woman's house that was destroyed by storm at Tudun Wada North. He reconstructed the public tap stand, also, at Tudun Wada North to enable the people have access to uncontaminated water thereby preventing the spread of water borne diseases.
A drainage was constructed at Airport Quarters to ease the flow of waste and rain water that hitherto floods the area.

Free Malaria test and treatment was carried out for the welfare of Minna West residents, under the banner of Chata Foundation.

Political Ideology

Chata is a detribalized personality that has a listening ear. He accords respect to all who come his way. He believes people are the greatest asset anyone can strive to keep and has, indeed, made practical his belief, going by the calibre of people and the nature of goodwill that surrounds him. He is pragmatic and easy going; he doesn't pretend with the truth.

He believes that politics should only be viewed as a means of bringing succour and development to the people regardless of their tribal, political or religious leanings.

He stated, "If there are standardized and functional Primary Health Care facility, with at least, two to three regular attendant doctors, in each ward, there wouldn't be need for people to always go to General Hospital for treatment."

He has been an advocate of engaging the youth to acquiring sound education or entrepreneurial skills. He strongly believes that political power lies with the electorate and therefore, human capital development must not be out of their reach.

Abdurrahman JG Muhammad (Chata), a hardworking and God fearing team player who inspires many people towards optimal achievements, is currently aspiring for Member, Federal House of Representative, Chanchaga Federal Constituency with a strong determination to continue the good works he has been known for, for decades.
