Holding the esteemed position of 1st class Etsu Nupe, or Emir, he serves as the Chairman of the Traditional Rulers of Niger State, guiding his people with grace and dignity.

With a distinguished background in the Nigerian Army as a former Brigadier General, HRH Alhaji Dr. Yahaya Abubakar brings a unique perspective and skill set to his role as Etsu Nupe. His leadership qualities and articulate nature have earned him respect and admiration not only within his communities but also far beyond, making him a shining example of principled governance.

Throughout his reign, HRH Alhaji Dr. Yahaya Abubakar has worked tirelessly to promote the welfare and interests of the Nupe people.
