My name is Right Honourable Usman Manko Mohammad, the Dan Majen Nupe, and I'm humbled to be the chairman elect of Bida local government. I'm thrilled to say that the election was a resounding success, with no rancor or issues, and was deemed free and fair by observers. The turnout was impressive, with voters from all corners of the local government exercising their right.

TMG>> What specific special projects do you envision for Bida, and how do you plan to ensure they benefit all segments of the community?

Chairman 》The first order of business, if we're inaugurated, will be to establish an Elders Advisory Council. This council will play a crucial role in guiding us as we implement our vision for Bida, which includes various special projects aimed at ensuring our people feel a sense of belonging and reap the benefits of democracy.

TMG>> What's the next area of focus for your administration after establishing the Elders Advisory Council?

Chairman 》Our blueprint is centered around transforming the lives of our people, particularly in the area of primary healthcare. We have 38 primary healthcare centers across Bida, but they require significant improvement. To address this, we plan to introduce a drug-revolving fund, which will enable us to procure essential drugs and medical supplies, thereby reducing the burden on our people.

Our goal is to ensure that our primary healthcare centers are equipped to handle minor treatments, including malaria and childbirth, and provide referrals to hospitals when necessary. This will greatly alleviate the stress of seeking medical attention at Federal Medical Centre or state-owned hospitals. Our people deserve access to quality, affordable healthcare, and we're committed to delivering just that.

TMG>> How do you plan to address the issue of declining standards in Bida's primary schools, and what specific strategies will you employ to restore excellence in education?

Chairman 》Education is another critical area we intend to focus on, starting with our primary schools. We've identified 59 public primary schools in Bida, and we're concerned about the declining standards. To address this, we plan to upgrade select schools as pilot projects, working closely with NSUBEB, the Ministry of Education, and the Governor's office.

We'll prioritize providing essential resources, including textbooks and training for teachers, to ensure our children receive quality education. We'll also establish bookshelves in classrooms, stocked with books from local vendors, to encourage reading and learning.

TMG>> Following your priorities on education and healthcare, what strategies do you have in place to address the pressing sanitation and ecological challenges in Bida?

Chairman 》Sanitation and ecological challenges are pressing issues in Bida, and we're fortunate to have Hajiya Aisha Ndayako, Permanent Secretary of the Ecological Office at the Federal Level, lending her support. We'll leverage her expertise and work closely with her office and the Niger State Ministry of Works to address these challenges and improve the overall sanitation and environmental conditions in Bida.

TMG>> Given the current security climate in Nigeria, how do you plan to ensure the safety and security of Bida's residents, and what measures will you take to prevent security breaches and promote a stable environment?

Chairman 》Security is a vital aspect of our agenda, and while we can't discuss specifics, rest assured we have a robust plan to ensure peace and stability in Bida. We'll work tirelessly to create a harmonious environment, conducive to growth and development.

TMG>> What actions will you take to show transparency, accountability, and community engagement, and how will you ensure Bida residents feel heard and seen?

Chairman 》With over a decade of public service, I've had the privilege of serving Bida in various capacities, and I'm proud of the reputation I've built. As a seasoned politician, I've learned that effective governance is about building bridges, not walls. I'm committed to creating a collaborative environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered to contribute to the growth of our beloved Bida. My experience as a Councilor, Speaker, and Vice Chairman Caretaker has taught me the importance of listening, empathy, and decisive action. I'm ready to leverage my expertise to drive progress, promote unity, and ensure Bida becomes a beacon of excellence in local governance.

TMG>> How will you ensure all wards in Bida benefit from development, and how will you measure progress? What strategies will you use to promote inclusive growth and address disparities?

Chairman 》The reintroduction of the Ward Development Committees by Farmer Governor Umar Bago is a game-changer for Bida. This initiative, first introduced during the Talba Minna administration, has been revived to drive development from the grassroots level. As councillors are now involved in every ward, and council chairmen are part of the process, we're poised to make a real impact.

As a council, we'll leverage this opportunity to decentralize our government, empowering our councillors to make a tangible difference in their constituencies. With the state's support and resources, we'll ensure our councillors have the tools they need to drive progress at the ward level. It's time to bring development closer to the people, and we're committed to making that happen.

By working together with the state government and our councillors, we'll create a more inclusive and responsive governance system. We'll ensure that every ward benefits from democracy, and that our people feel the impact of good governance. It's a new dawn for Bida, and we're excited to be part of this journey.

TMG>> How will you make youth empowerment programs effective and sustainable, and how will you measure their impact on young people in Bida?

Chairman 》Youth empowerment is a top priority, and we're committed to doing it differently. We'll identify talented individuals, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and provide them with skills training and resources to start their own businesses. This will not only benefit them but also contribute to the growth of our community.

We're aware of the past challenges, where forms are printed and unfairly distributed, often benefiting those with connections rather than the most deserving candidates. We've also seen empowerment programs that aren't sustainable, where materials are sold off, and the impact is short-lived. Our approach will be more robust and impactful. We'll create opportunities for our youths, but we won't stop there. We'll provide ongoing support, mentorship, and resources to ensure their success.

We're committed to making youth empowerment a cornerstone of our administration, and we'll work tirelessly to ensure our programs are transparent, inclusive, and sustainable. We'll hold ourselves accountable for results, and we'll be judged by the success of our youths. We're not just talking about change; we're committed to delivering real impact, and our youths will be the beneficiaries. We'll uplift and empower them, and in doing so, we'll build a stronger, more prosperous Bida for all.

TMG>> How will you leverage support from your family, Etsu Nupe, Governor Umar Bago, and others to drive Bida's growth?

Chairman 》I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Bida for the trust they've placed in me over the years. I'm humbled by the confidence you've shown in me, and I'm committed to repaying that trust with service, dedication, and results. I'm proud to be a son of this great community, and I'm honored to have had the opportunity to serve you in various capacities.

To Etsu Nupe, HRH Dr. Yahaya Abubakar CFR, our Executive Governor, Farmer Governor Umar Bago, I thank you for your unwavering support and leadership. Your vision for a better Bida inspires me, and I'm committed to working with you to make that vision a reality.

To my family and friends who have stood by me through thick and thin, I thank you for your love, support, and encouragement. Your unwavering belief in me has gotten me this far, and I couldn't have done it without you. I'm grateful for your sacrifices, your patience, and your understanding. This journey is as much mine as it is yours, and I'm honored to have you all by my side.j

To my fellow Bida residents, I assure you that I'm committed to being a servant leader, working tirelessly to address the challenges we face, and creating opportunities for growth and development. I'll be accessible, responsive, and accountable, and I'll work with all stakeholders to build a brighter future for our community.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve, and I ask for your prayers and support as I embark on this journey. Together, we can build a better Bida, and I'm honored to be part of this journey with you.

Thank you and may God bless Bida! 🙏
