Remembering the Legacy of Abdulkadir A A Kure: 8 Years Since His Passing

Today marks 8 years since the passing of our beloved former Governor of Niger State, Abdulkadir A A Kure. A man of integrity, hard work, and humility, he dedicated his life to serving the people of Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.

Abdulkadir A A Kure, born on 26 February 1956, was a Nigerian politician who served as Governor of Niger State from1999 to 2007. A member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Kure was married to Zainab Abdulkadir Kure, a former civil servant and Nigerian Senator from 2007 to 2015, and they had six children. Hailing from Lapai Local Government of the state, he held the traditional title of Rani Lapai. Abdulkadir Kure passed away on 8 January 2017 in Germany at the age of 61.

During his time as a civil servant, he worked tirelessly to develop Abuja, the Federal Capital of Nigeria, and played a pivotal role in the transition of power from Lagos to Abuja. His introduction of Sharia law in Niger State in 2000 was a testament to his commitment to upholding the values and beliefs of the people he served.

Abdulkadir Kure was not only a respected politician, but also a kind-hearted and jovial human being. He treated everyone he encountered with respect and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Though he may no longer be with us, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May Allah grant him peace in Aljannah Firdausi, and may we all be reunited with him in the hereafter.

Rest in peace, our dear Eng. AA Kure. You are dearly missed, but your memory will forever be cherished.

Aameen Ya Rabbi.
