TakeMyGist Person of the Week: Mohammed Bello El-Rufai - Nigerian Politician Making Waves in the 10th National Assembly

This week, we are proud to feature Mohammed Bello El-Rufai as our TakeMyGist person of the week. Mohammed is a Nigerian politician who currently serves as a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the 10th National Assembly. He is also the son of the former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

Born on January 11, 1988, in Kaduna, Nigeria, Mohammed earned his BSc in political science and international relations from Wheaton College, Massachusetts, and his MSc in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University in 2015. He began his career at Huawei Nigeria before transitioning into politics during his National Youth Service Corps.

Mohammed has been actively involved in various political groups and campaigns, serving as a director of youth mobilization for the Buhari Campaign Organization and as a senior legislative aide and chief of staff to Senator Uba Sani. In addition to his political career, Mohammed is also a board member of the Yasmin El-Rufai Foundation and the founder of the Hamza El-Rufai Foundation.

As a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mohammed secured his seat in the House of Representatives for Kaduna North Federal Constituency in February 2023. In the 10th Assembly, he currently serves as the chairman of the House Committee on Banking Regulations.

Mohammed Bello El-Rufai is not only following in his father's footsteps but making a name for himself in Nigerian politics. We applaud his dedication to public service and commitment to making a difference in his community.
