As a concerned citizen of Northern Nigeria, it is disheartening to witness the decline of our region since the passing of influential leaders such as Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Alhaji Aminu Kano and so many others. The Northern region, once a beacon of strength and unity, has now succumbed to poverty, hunger, and social ills that plague our communities every day. The rise of Almajiris and the lack of proactive leadership have only exacerbated these issues, while other regions like Western Nigeria continue to make strides in various sectors.

It is commendable to see individuals like Hamza Al-Mustapha, the former Chief Security Officer to late General Sani Abacha, taking a stand and working towards uniting the North and revitalizing it to its former glory. His efforts with the Rebuild Arewa Initiative for Development are essential in bringing together stakeholders and addressing the challenges that have plagued our region for too long.

Al-Mustapha's call for Northern leaders to come together and work towards a common goal resonates deeply with him. Unity and collaboration are crucial in addressing the root causes of our social ills and rebuilding a brighter future for the North. By focusing on key areas such as education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, we can lay the foundation for a prosperous and thriving region once again.

I believe that with dedicated individuals like Al-Mustapha leading the charge and with the collective efforts of all stakeholders, Northern Nigeria can overcome its current challenges and emerge as a region that is strong, united, and prosperous. It is time for us as Northerners to rise up, support one another, and work towards a better future for generations to come. The time for change is now, and together, we can rebuild the North and secure a brighter tomorrow for all.
